Fishing on the Hampshire Avon

FLOW CIC aim to carry out activities which benefit communities within the River Avon SAC catchment across Wiltshire and Hampshire through engagement, monitoring and improvements in river health.

We utilise profits from the delivery of commercial projects to help fund this.

Our main activities

Citizen Science Water Quality Monitoring

Working alongside an amazing network of volunteers, we are collecting important data on river health, initially focusing on the River Avon and tributaries south of Salisbury.

Bathing Water Designation

We work with local community groups to support them in applying for bathing water status at popular recreational spots on the river. This helps protect people wanting to access the river, and also drives improvements in water quality. See our Fordingbridge and Queen Elizabeth Gardens pages.

River Enhancement & Restoration

Habitat quality is just as important as water quality, and it is often much easier to improve. We aim to collaborate with angling clubs and landowners to enhance habitats along the River Avon and its tributaries. We can help get projects ‘shovel-ready’ to enable access to emerging funding streams.
