What are River Condition Assessments?
- If you have a watercourse within 10m of your project red line boundary, unless exempt, you will need to factor in watercourse biodiversity net gain (BNG).
- The baseline condition of your river, stream, and/or canal is calculated using a River Condition Assessment. This information is then combined with other data to provide a baseline number of Watercourse Units.
- River Condition Assessments comprise both field-based and desk-based elements, where multiple positive and negative indicators of river health are evaluated.
- Our team is qualified to deliver River Condition Assessments and is experienced across various watercourse types.
- We can provide wider support around watercourse Biodiversity Net Gain.
- Outputs can be either raw data or summarised in a River Condition Assessment Report. Outputs can also be entered into the Biodiversity Metric.
